Web Gaming

This is a section for resources and information on developing games using web technologies. Note that I say using web technologies instead of just gaming. These could be games made to run on a local machine, they just happen to utilize web tech to do so.

  • HTML5 Game Engines – A site that aggregates and rates the various HTML5 game engines available.
  • Phaser – Written in JavaScript or TypeScript this appears to be a fairly robust engine and widely utilized. Unfortunately, it lacks any significant documentation on creating turn-based games.
  • LimeJS – Written in JavaScript, appears to be on the smaller side. Website’s last blog post was 2013, though edits to the Github project have been made much more recently.
  • ImpactJS – On the more popular side, written in JavaScript, costs $99.
