While I have my doubts about Bitcoin as a viable replacement currency, I do like the idea of a decentralized currency overall – in part b/c it would remove so much power from the credit card and banks’ hands. It seems unreasonable to me that credit cards not only charge the consumer for their purchases but also the business – and it isn’t like $.02 per transaction either – its pretty expensive!
